Are public holidays counted as working days?
No. Public holidays that fall on a weekday are removed from the working-day total. A holiday that falls on a weekend is already a weekend day; where the rules give a substitute weekday, that weekday is removed instead, so nothing is subtracted twice.
How are working hours calculated?
Working hours = working days × hours per day. Each country starts with a typical full-time day (for example 7 hours in France and 7.6 in Australia), and you can switch to 7, 7.5 or 8 hours on any calculator page.
