How working days are calculated
We count every date from today to 31 December, including both. Each date goes into exactly one bucket: a weekend day, a public holiday that falls on a weekday, or a working day. That way no date is ever subtracted twice.
Working hours are simply working days × hours per day. Use the 8h selector above to match your contract.
Public holidays rules
Germany has nine nationwide public holidays. Every other holiday is set by the state (Bundesland), so choose your state for your real figure. Holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday are not moved to a weekday.
Assumption Day in mainly Catholic parts of Bavaria, Corpus Christi in parts of Saxony and Thuringia, and the Augsburg Peace Festival only apply locally, so they aren't included.

Are public holidays included in working days?

Which date counts as "today"?
