How working days are calculated
We count every date from today to 31 December, including both. Each date goes into exactly one bucket: a weekend day, a public holiday that falls on a weekday, or a working day. That way no date is ever subtracted twice.
Working hours are simply working days × hours per day. Use the 8h selector above to match your contract.
Public holidays rules
Spain has up to 14 paid public holidays a year: national holidays, holidays chosen by each autonomous community, and two local holidays set by each town. The national view counts only the holidays every community shares, so choose your community for your real figure.
Local town holidays aren't included, so most workers have two fewer working days than shown. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, communities can move it to the Monday; the official BOE list we use already reflects this. Next year's figures appear once the BOE publishes the list, usually in October.
